Become a Trainer

Are you a certified therapist or special needs educator with extensive experience working with infants and children facing disabilities? If so, we invite you to apply to become a trainer with MAITS. Upon application, we carefully review your qualifications and provide feedback regarding your eligibility. For therapists participating in the MAITS Community Health Worker Empowerment Programme or applying for MAITS small grants, registration as a trainer with MAITS is mandatory before commencing your training journey.

Our trainer registration criteria are as follows
  • Qualified as a disability specialist, such as a physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, occupational therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, community paediatrician, special educator/teacher, or similar.
  • Possess a minimum of four years of post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working or volunteering abroad in developing countries.
  • Willingness to undergo DBS or police check to ensure suitability for working with children and vulnerable adults. Please refer to our safeguarding policy for further details.
