One of the new services we provide with our site is a space to share information about volunteering abroad, discuss topics on disability and development and post any questions or requests for advice.
Karen Wylie and the Speech and Language Therapy team from the University of Ghana have started our first discussion entitled Speech & Language Therapy: The Development of a New Profession in Low Resource Countries.
This debate, whilst it has an initial focus on SLT, will raise a number of important points on the development of any new profession in disability and mental health care and on how to address the the gap between service capacity and need.
They have started by providing a brief general introduction and a series of questions. Please do get involved and post your answers in the comment boxes available.
To take part in the forum discussions you will need to register here.
